Journey Down Thompson Lane

A welcome word from Cas.

Today marks six months since I launched Thompson Lane into the world — six months which have flown by in a blur of nerves, excitement, finding my feet and incredible gratitude for the support and people I have had the pleasure of connecting with already.

But before the months continue to pass, as they do ever so quickly, I wanted to take a moment to create my first journal entry for Down The Lane and felt it only fitting to honour the very beginning of Thompson Lane and all that it represents.

Thompson Lane was created for the people who pave their own path — at work, in life and in design. The ones who don’t settle and that follow their heart in all that they do.

I wanted to create a place for those of us who seek beauty in the little things, who don’t blindly follow trends, and who want to build a home that is authentic and full of character.

More importantly, I wanted to create a place that fulfils these desires through the celebration of our local artisans, and in a way that is also considerate to our planet.

Our first collection, PERLA, was a concept that had been on my heart, and intermittently in my hands for almost two years; a concept which was so strong and persistent in my mind that it eventually brought Thompson Lane to life. Inspired by my time working in and being enamoured by the wedding industry combined with my experience as a ceramic artist, Perla was founded on the juxtaposing features of my favourite raw, gritty clay body and the organic beauty of freshwater pearls.

Pearls are believed to symbolise wisdom gained through experience, and with that in mind I could not have imagined launching Thompson Lane with anything other than this collection.

This is just the beginning and I cannot wait to continue creating, designing and sourcing beautiful artisan wares to find their special place in your home.

Most of all, I cannot wait to help tell your story.

Best,
